Drinking

Running Bear finally came to visit us this weekend. He had been promising to visit for some time, but had been busy with work etc.

So it was nice to have a visitor, not least because it distracted us from moving, selling things, and planning our travels.

This distraction was further aided by large quantities of alcohol. We did do some civilised things also during the weekend. On Saturday we went for a long walk along the beach, and on Sunday we went to Scripps Aquarium and then La Jolla. For the first time in ages I took photos and have put them online.

Oh, the one moving-related task that I did this weekend was to drive up to Irvine Subaru (in Irvine, about 50 miles North of here) to see if they would give me a decent price for my Subaru which has still not sold. They have offered to "consign" it to their lot. There it will sit until sold, at which time they pay me an previously agreed amount. They of course sell it for more than this amount, and therefore make a tidy little profit. They also offered to buy it on the spot, but for $500 less. I'm planning to go with the consignment option. The other good news is that the extended warranty I bought with the car is totally refundable, making their offer even more attractive.
