So Emily and I were wondering what the correct protocol was for observing one's first wedding anniversary. We are still romantic and spontaneous sometimes, I promise you. But things like this do need to be discussed occasionally you know.

In the end we concluded that pressies and cards would be just the job (which was just as well, as the present I'd bought had already arrived from the UK - thanks Steve!). We already had our little skiing trip planned to coincide with the date itself, so now we will both have to secretly smuggle mysterious packages into the car.

What we did not expect was that our respective families would also have the same idea. Separated parents and independent brothers and sisters means that we have received a total of six cards in the space of three days. Blimey.
